Earlier today Google released the beta of their new web browser, Google Chrome. It is supposedly better than any other browser to date, it completely redefines how browsers work, and it is open source. I've been using it a bit and I like the many features it has, how fast it is, and the simple layout.

I read through this and it tells you how Google Chrome is different and explains all of the features to you. I think this is going to replace IE and FF ^^.

About Google Chrome: http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/
DL the Beta: http://www.google.com/chrome

Can't wait till someone creates some new skins for it though ^^

dled it 5 minutes after release

it's amzingly fast and simple!
only thing i'm missing is the quick search box (it works like this now: type "amazon [tab] starcraft 2" and it searches amazon for the game)

yet, i doubt that it will replace IE
most ppl havent switched to FF or opera so far even if both are faster and better than IE
moreover, i know hardly anyone who uses google apps instead of office software for example
ppl wont switch to chrome since they dont see all the advantages, i guess
never touch a running system, u know

As far as microsoft is the leading operating system provider the IE will be the browser nr#1. Atm it's about 80 % IE and 20 % rest. Also with Chrome that won't change. If MS has once the problem that they arn't allowed to deliver the IE with their operating system the IE dominance might break.

well, some ppl say sooner or later, everything on the pc will be web applications
-> no need for an OS anymore

but ofc, it depends on pc retailers
if they start to ship comps without a real OS, ppl might switch to the google way of using their pc

btw: the german handelsblatt published the following statistic today:
IE: 72,15 %
FF: 19,73 %
Apple Safari: 6,73 %
Opera: 0,74 %
Others: 0,65 %

Opera FTW

1998 downloaded, installed, 10 years later not deinstalled...

Yeah your right about IE being the most used, and it will probably stay that way because most of the people who use the internet either don't know that there is a better browser out there, or they just don't care enough to switch xD.

I'm still playing around with all the different things you can do with Google Chrome, I love moving the whole tab around, although I fail to see how it can be used -_-.
