 MMC's weekly Community Update #3 Collector's Edition announced Surprise, surprise... Blizzard is going to make a bit of extra money by releasing a Collector's Edition together with the game (which will probably be published in summer 2010). 4 days ago, they revealed the exact content of what looks more like a strongroom than a videogame. For $ 100.00 fans will be able to get the following extra content (according to gosugamers.net): - The Art of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, a 176-page concept art book; (More informations (including pictures) can be found here)- 14-track OST CD, containing the epic sound of the StarCraft 2 universe; - Behind the Scenes DVD; - 2GB USB flash drive replica of Jim Raynor's dog tag, loaded with the original StarCraft: BroodWar; - "Mini Thor" - an ingame World of Warcraft pet for all of us who enjoy that Blizzard franchise as well; - Special Battle.net downloadable content that will consist of character portraits and unit customization details; - StarCraft comic #0, a prequel to the released comic series. Beta Keys Lottery Of course, instead of waiting for the Collector's Edition, you can also spend your money on a StarCraft 2 Beta key, for which you still have to pay over $ 100.00 on ebay. Nevertheless, the German gaming magazin 4Players.de is giving away 200 beta keys until the 14th of april. StarCraft 2 Beta Top Earners Speaking of money, another German homepage, Fragster.de, has published a quite interesting table which shows how much the top European players earned by winning beta tournaments so far. It features the six most important tournaments which already had money prizes, namely the ESL TV Pro Invite Cup, the Zotac Cup, the SC2.ru Cup, Go4SC2 Tournament, the CraftCup and the Team Liquid SC2 Invitational. The first place is held by the spaniard  LucifroN with $ 700.00 - what is equivalent to 7 Collector's Editions.Yet, American and Korean StarCraft 2 progamers will find it quite funny that someone even turns on his computer for such a small amount of money, seen that american top players  IdrA and Smuft (the latter one having recently been beaten by MMC|_H2O) just agreed to play a best of 7 match for $ 10,000 to settle a dispute about who is the better player...(discuss this topic in our forums.) |

 A sensational turn of events! MMC|_H2O has just won his quarter final match against ucsb.trypt in the Hello, Goodbye tournament with 2-0. You find a video of the (casted) match here.His next opponent is CJ Entus|IdrA, often considered to be the best american StarCraft player. He currently lives in South Korea where he plays for CJ Entus, after being given a progaming license while playing for eSTRO.Having recently won the ESL Major Series Seasons IV and V (2009 and 2010) and the US WCG National Finals of 2009, he will clearly be the favorite for the upcoming match against _H2O which will take place the 9th of april at 7 PM PST (april 10th, 3 AM UTC/5 AM UTC+2). You can find more information about IdrA here or by watching a recent interview with him (including some really annoying music in the background). /update: _H2O lost 0-2. IdrA is now the big favorite to win the tournament, not having lost a single game so far. _H2O has still a good chance to finish third by beating EG.iNkA./update 2: Finals having been played tonight, _H2O finishes the tournament on rank 4, having been beaten by iNkA 1-2. This result is nevertheless a great achievement for both, the clan and _H2O himself, given that all other players in the Top 4 have been playing StarCraft on the highest level for years and can be considered to be the strongest american players at the moment. |

#2 of our weekly Community Update First Searchable Browser Ladder Gibybo just published a fully searchable ladder for your browser. It currently includes US Platinum Divisions 1-10 but other divisions and servers will be added soon. MMC|StarSky and  MMC|Jdanzi are representing MMC under Europe's top players.GosuCup It is probably one of the most interesting tournaments at the moment: The GosuCup Starcraft 2 invitational. 16 of europeans strongest players, coming from StarCraft, WarCraft III, DotA and World of Warcraft have been invited to compete for $ 500 prize money. Some of the matches of the first round are still to be played before the quarter finals, which will take place on sunday 11th. A first replay package can be found here. Sc2gears Some days ago, a useful tool has been published under the name of Sc2gears. According to gosugamers.net, it "provides a way for users to handle their replays easier without having to actually log into StarCraft 2 to find out such information as player names and maps. The program analyzes replays and provides such information as game statistics, player names, map names, and even a log of the in-game chat." Morevor, it includes an easier way to rename replays and allows to view a full in-game textlog. More information can be found on the official site. |

It is the biggest tournament for the StarCraft 2 beta version: 128 players, more than $ 1,000 of prize money and the whole SC 2 community watching... [yt]SgWCkEvnuu0[/yt] All the more surprising that a consummate Age of Empires player made it to the Top 8! This very night, noone else than WCG 2008 winner MMC|_H2O, playing under the nickname ruthless, is going to compete for a spot in the semi finals, facing ucsb.trypt.Given the fact that he has already beaten some well-known StarCraft players like Gretorp and  Smuft, he will definetely be a tough opponent to trypt, who has been playing only SC related games for the last 15 months.The match will be played the 6th of april at 7:00 PM PST (which is april 7th, 3 AM UTC or 5 AM UTC+2 (German timezone)). Team Liquid Starcraft 2 Invitational Tournament mouz|WhiteRaw goes to the finals without losing a single game, then wins the first Team Liquid Starcraft 2 Invitational Tournament. Get interviews, replays and other tournament details here. ZOTAC weekly cup ZOTAC hosts a weekly cup with great players. It is the largest tournament in participation so far with a number of participants which just keeps rising every week. After a long period of drought, MMC is finally back on track! The release of Starcraft 2, the world's most anticipated RTS game since Warcraft III, approaching, MMC players are girding themselves for the next battle. Since 2008, times have been tough for both, eSports as a whole and RTS players in particular: not only did the global financial crisis make it very difficult to find sponsors willing to invest in such a fast-paced and variable market as eSports, there had also been a veritable lack of new RTS titles adequate for competitive gaming. Thus, after our incredible success at WCG 2008 in Cologne (our members having won a gold and a bronze medal), large parts of the clan became inactive. And even if some of us still got good results in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 and Dawn of War II, competition in these games was far from what we had experienced in CnC 3 and the games of the Age of Empires series; RTS went into hibernation – and so did MMC. With the release of the Starcraft 2 beta version, we finally came back to life – and started intense preparation to be ready for national and international competition once again. Hence, we are proud to present to you our new SC 2 squad, which represents the great mix of genuine RTS skill and great experience we combine in MMC since time immemorial. It features well-known players from all over the world, having experience in almost every major RTS title. To mention but a few, there will be WCG-gold-medalist MMC|_H2O, EA Masters-Winner, WCG-finalist and EPS-medalist  MMC|Dragonfood and WCG-bronze-medalist MMC|Demon. Legends from the Command & Conquer and Age of Empires series such as EPS-player MMC|InsOP and WCG-bronze-medalist MMC|khufu will add their know-how to the team. After years of waiting for a bigger piece than an expansion pack for Starcraft, the developers from Blizzard choose not to torture us anymore and start the madness. The Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty beta test is officially opened. Although in closed quarters, some lucky users may join the battle. Speaking about battle, in order to get an invitation and a beta key, you need to have an account on battle.net. So check your email and see if you are the lucky user that has been picked for Starcraft 2 Beta testing. Blizzard announces that thousands of players will get the invitation.
