We gladly remember the WCG 2008 with an awesome result for MMC. Just to remember:

MMC|_H2O made the first place in AoE3 and MMC|khufu ended up in the third place CnC3.

Unfortunately there a very bad game seeding at the WCG 2009 leaded to the fact that no MMC-game is in the game list.

So at the end of the week we will see the champions of the following games:

* Carom 3D
* Counter-Strike 1.6
* FIFA 2009
* Guitar Hero World Tour
* Mobile Asphalt 4
* Starcraft: Brood War
* Trackmania Nations Forever
* Virtua Fighter 5
* WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne
* Wise Star 2

As the planning for WCG 2010 already started there is a list of possible RTS-games:

* Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Uprising
* StarCraft 2
* StarCraft: Brood War
* WarCraft 3: Frozen Throne
* Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2

Let's hope that WCG 2010 (Los Angeles) will contain a MMC game again.

Having already won the first online qualifier for the prestigous EA Masters' finals, which will be held in december, about a month ago, MMC|InsOp did nevertheless particpate in round 2 and 3 of the qualifier - and was quite succesful.

Reaching the final in round 2 without a single loss, he defeated his opponent
PSYCHOxnc for a second time, again with a score of 2:1.
It is all the more funny that those players may also clash in round 3, where InsOp also qualified for the final, having beaten Psycho in the semifinal (2:1, of course...). The latter now has to face ex MMC player eXc.PrOgAmEr.

Tomorrow, at the E-Stars Seoul 2009, Blizzard will be introducing StarCraft 2 to the Korean world with a series of matches between some of the top Korean players in the other top Blizzard RTS titles, StarCraft: Brood War and WarCraft 3. Among the five mataches is likely the most highly anticipated match which features teammates from WeMadeFOX, the legendary WC3 progamer, Moon, and his opponent, one of the most decorated players in BW history, NaDa. The complete match list is as follows with times in Korean:

  • WhO vs. Shy - 11:00
  • GARIMTO vs. Bright - 12:30
  • Check vs. DayFly - 15:00
  • Nal_ra vs. JoyO - 16:00
  • Moon vs. NaDa - 17:00

This will be the first set of progamer matches on SC2 so we can finally expect to see some intense games. The games, along with the rest of the tournament which features top players in StarCraft, WarCraft 3, and Counter-Strike 1.6, will be available streaming at Gotfrag and via the Daum player.

After a very successful season in the previous EPS for Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, MMC.eSports tries to return to the prestigious German league with the new game, Dawn of War 2. Players will look to qualify via the Amateur Series or through two qualification tournaments, one of which started today and the other begins next week. Qualification by the Amateur Series ended this morning with MMC|StarSky barely missing the top ten finishing 12th, while MMC|CeLeRitY finished 15th. These players along with the remainder of the DoW2 squad will compete in the cups to try and gain entry. All games in the qualification cups will be players on the new beta patch.

Update:

The first cup has begun and StarSky and MMC|InsOp have moved through their first round matches and MMC|XeZZ has advanced with a bye in the first round while CeLeRitY lost his first round match. You can view the tournament bracket here.

StarSky and NaturePhoenix competing for $ 2,000

After a flawless walkover, Andreas "MMC|StarSky" Hefter and our clan's old friend n!NaturePhoenix just entered the final of the 2vs2 Fan Patch Cup hosted by AgeSanctuary.com. With $ 2,000 in prices, it is the biggest tournament played with the current Fan Patch for Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties so far.

During group stage, StarSky and NaturePhoenix had to face in particular WCG winner Ryan "MMC|_H2O" Mancl and his partner as well as the famous team Braidon and Biob0b, before they finally entered the semi-final, where they took out n!faculty players n!mRcheese and n!Ourk.

Alas, Matt "NightScr3aM" Savaryn and Nicol "NiCo__" Jamie, who also participated for MMC, could not keep up with this performance and lost their quarter finals.

All group stage brackets can be found here, the final matches here.

/update: In a difficult final, StarSky and NaturePhoenix lost to [hope]kiljardi and ACERGAME09, thus finishing second. Nevertheless, kudos to both of them!

Two weeks ago, one of Germany's biggest LAN events took place - the get BoinKed 8.

In addition to such well-known players as DyNaMic, Zockergod and C&C WCG gold medalist Dackel, Marcel "InsOp" Michelfelder participated for MMC and could win some of the most important tournaments. Not only did he finish first (2on2) and second (1on1) in his key game C&C Red Alert 3, he also won the tournaments for the even more distiguished Blizzard titles Warcraft III and Starcraft.

Along with a second place in C&C 3 Kane's Wrath (2on2) and several Top5 ranks in smaller games, InsOp played an excellent tournament and proved once more MMC's players' competitve skills in LAN games as well.

Tournament results can be found here.
